Pecha Kucha Night Bucharest
Pecha Kucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public.
It has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat", it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It's a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.

UNA Galeria, Str G-ral Budisteanu, Nr 10

Incepand cu 10 martie 2009, UNA galeria prezinta pentru
doua saptamani expozitia Traces: Arta contemporana romaneasca,
o expozitie ce incheie periplul intercontinental inceput cu galeria *CIAC
din Pont Aven, Franta* si continuat la galeria *Robert Else,
Sacramento State University, California* si apoi la galeria *Selby
din cadrul Ringling College of Art and Design din Sarasota, Florida*.
diverse: pictura, sculptura, artele textile, instalatia, performance si sound performance, arta video, fotografia.

Traces: Contemporary Romanian Art in Pont-Aven, France
July 12th - August 22nd 2008

This exhibition has the ambition to present to the French and American public the new generation of Romanian artists. The artists, all under 40 and with a great desire to experiment, were able, unlike their predecessors, to free themselves from the academic canon and, starting with the 90s, discover the forms of international contemporary art.
With irony and humor, even when they talk about serios subjects such as politics, history, urbanism, the artists make everyone reflect on memory, traditions, the individual, using the mediums of the 20th century : Painting, Sculpture, Installation, Performance, Video and Digital Arts. These artists share a language, a history. They are those who have lived the violent events of Romania's recent history, and today they produce new mythologies and generate Romania's contemporary artistic creation. Emerged in the Europe of the 21st century these 16 artists : -- Ana Banica, Gabriela Boiangiu, Rozalinda Borcila, Emanuel Borcescu, Care Cutare, Cozo, Suzana Dan, Gorzo, Mirela Ivanciu, Stela Lie, Ioana Marinescu, Aurelia Mihai, Gili Mocanu, Vlad Nanca, Lila Passima, and Delia Popa, live and work in Bucharest, London or New York.
