360 Writing on Walls, Variable Sizes, Paintspray, Somewhere in Sinaia, 2009
Writing reads: ”Mama, her secretary, Mr.B and I drove to Sinaia, since we could not reach Mihai by telephone.”
„Scraper” makes use of some of the writing of Princess Ileana of Romania, the aunt of King Mihai of Romania, in an attempt to address the question of the place such an extraordinary personality can occupy in Romania’s public consciousness. A sentence was stenciled on empty, deserted walls in Sinaia, re-calling the events hat happened in this town prior to the abdication of the King in 1947, that changed Romania’s history.
